Why it matters
Distance is easiest to gain early
Crowd pressure builds fast and traps
Identifiers mark you as a target
A trapped crowd has no exits

Read The Field

  • Track the flow toward open space
  • Spot agitation: shouting, smoke, sirens, running
  • Mark escape assets: side streets, lobbies, transit
  • Leave before compression starts

Pick The Line

  • Move diagonally toward the edge
  • Avoid fences, tunnels, alleys, stair bottlenecks
  • Pivot early if one side is blocked
  • Choose options over raw speed

Body Position

  • Keep hands chest-high and visible
  • Turn one shoulder forward to slip gaps
  • Take short, stable steps; never sprint
  • Protect your head and ribs if shoved

Low Profile

  • Remove flags, signs, and loud identifiers
  • Zip pockets and secure your bag
  • Use your phone only for navigation or calls
  • Stay calm, neutral, and quiet

When It Surges

  • Move with the pressure a few steps
  • Angle out at forty-five degrees
  • Use walls to reduce impact
  • Never stop to film or argue

Trapped Or Pinned

  • Stay on your feet at all costs
  • Keep arms up to protect your chest
  • Drift toward edges and hard cover
  • If you fall, roll aside and rise fast

Use Cover

  • Hug building edges to cut exposure
  • Reach lobbies, stores, or parking structures
  • Put a solid barrier between you and the mass
  • Keep both hands free for balance

Reach Cold Ground

  • Keep moving until the noise drops off
  • Confirm distance before you stop
  • Check status and report once safe
  • Re-plan your route from the new position
